*** Color Wow Notice ***

If you haven’t already heard by now, a few months ago, Color Wow was acquired by L’Oreal professional. At that time, we did not know whether we were going to be a distributor with them or not. As of Monday, December 15, we were notified that L’Oreal was cutting off all Independent distributors by the end of January 2026. And of course that includes us The Salon Center. This is just one of the tragedies that we face every so often in this business. I’ve already gone through several manufacturers over my 30+ years. It’s never easy and what makes it even worse as Color Wow was one of the best retail brands I’ve ever promoted and sold. However, what most stylists are really sick and tired of is in products that they recommend to their clients being sold directly by the manufacturer, on Amazon, and other sites, plus locally in popular retail stores. 

I know this is not gonna be an easy transition, but our company is already in the process of bringing on 2 to 3 new brands the first quarter.  One of the brands that we already started selling is Gold Professional. The great thing about them is they are not a new brand and they’ve been around since 2008 founded in Denmark. They are clean beauty brand owned by two stylists and their mission is not to sell online, only to stylist and salons. So far this has been true. You can even go on their website and not see a pop-up trying to get your email so they can direct market to you, which is what every other major manufacturer does these days. So basically when I’m saying is, if you hang in there with us, I’m sure we’ll have some really great options for the new year. I know I’m losing at least 25% or more of my business overnight.

As of 15 December, we no longer offer any promotions whatsoever with Color Wow since we’ve been cut off. Although they say we haven’t until the end of January, I’m not sure if our company is going to continue ordering Color Wow since we are in the process of phasing out of it. We are already out of some popular items, such as style on steroids, leaders of shampoo and conditioner, extra large, bombshell, volumizer, and I’m sure more will be added to the list.
